I want to thank the Lyman Hall students and staff for their patience and understanding while we secured and installed a temporary boiler. Due to a damaged trailer axle, the vendor that was approved by the town via bid waiver could not deliver. For this reason Dominic Barone, our Business Manager, immediately pivoted and found another vendor. He was successful and the new vendor Boileroom Rentals from Syosset, NY had a brand new boiler package on site in 2 days. Following the delivery, All-State Construction from Farmington developed a material list and immediately started securing the needed materials and manpower. All State committed no less than 10 fitters and welders both on-site and at their fabrication shop along with several members of their management team. Our Electrician Eric Fratantonio, HVAC Tech’s Craig Johns, Robert Dunn, Plumber Mike Chatary, and laborer Lenny Hilado ran the line voltage and control circuits along with providing general support. Our boiler inspector representing the Chubb Insurance Company, Bob Trabka was on site within 1.5 hours of me calling him to inspect the boiler and issue the required state operating certificate. Without this, we would not be able to run the new temporary boiler. Following all this Frank Mina from Boileroom Rentals had his start-up team test and start up the new boiler and equipment. Frank’s team worked through some challenging technical issues with the brand-new automation and burner control systems. Under tremendous pressure, the start-up techs stayed focused and got the job done. This was a herculean effort by all and one of the best teams I have ever been in charge of.
